Growing up where beats pulsed through the city, Kevin and Dollie developed a passion for dance early on. They met in high school, quickly becoming not just friends but dance partners. It was during these formative years that they first encountered hand dancing. Their journey took a turn in 2011 when they were introduced to “Steppin’” at an event in Killeen, TX—the heartland of the country’s largest military base. That first Steppin’ class wasn’t just a lesson; it was a revelation. Kevin was hooked from the get-go.
Killeen, known for its military roots, became the backdrop where Kevin and his wife embarked on their Steppin’ adventure. Right from their first formal class, Kevin sensed that Steppin’ was more than a dance; it was a journey he was destined to follow. Together, Kevin and Dollie committed to mastering their craft, driven by a dedication that aimed at not just participating but excelling.
Stepp-Up Steppers isn't just a dance studio; it's a community-driven not-for-profit that turns social events into fundraising opportunities for local service projects and programs. With over 25 years of instructional experience, both in military and civilian capacities, Kevin eventually started teaching Steppin’. His deep dive into the dance involved numerous classes, private sessions, and workshops with master steppers to maintain the integrity and elevate the quality of his teaching. Now, Stepp-Up Steppers offers a range of services across Central Texas, including private lessons, group classes, workshops, and public Steppin’ demonstrations and events, spreading the rhythm and soul of Steppin’ far and wide.

I'm going to learn both, so I can stay smooth on the dance floor, through multiple songs.
With time, I, too, can refine myself and enjoy this exciting dance wherever I go in the country or travel the world.
If I could dress up, and dance with that much enjoyment, I would do this dance every day with anticipation.
Great! There are classes in Austin, TX, and Killeen, TX. I hear this dance community in this area is friendly and fun!!
Something the young and the older can enjoy on the same floor simultaneously. What a wonderful way to share being healthy, knowledge and skill.
